By node.js option you mean node.js with DrupalChat or general node.js?
I was referring to the node.js option with DrupalChat.

Major advantages of using node.js server are that it is efficient and scalable.
There are no such disadvantage as such but there are some requirements of its own, like that you need to have root access to the server where your website is hosted.
And then you have to manage it at your own and it is relatively new language.
Currently, node.js server is not available with DrupalChat as it is under development. Till then our iFlyChat servers can be used.
